Michael S. Beatty is the President and creative influence for Beatty Development Group. Prior to the formation of his own firm in 2013, Michael co-founded H&S Properties Development Corporation with John Paterakis in 1995 to develop and manage Harbor East – a dynamic, 20-acre mixed-use neighborhood with six million square feet of development worth more than $1 billion.
As “a small firm doing big things,” Michael and his experienced team employ the same fundamentals that he used to make Harbor East successful – broad vision, forward-thinking design, environmental respect, and neighborhood synergies – and apply them to the master planning and development of new projects throughout Baltimore. In addition to Harbor Point, the firm is currently one of the lead partners in the redevelopment of Baltimore Penn Station and adjacent Amtrak-owned parcels, as well as the redevelopment of Perkins Somerset Old Town public housing. In 2016, Beatty Development Group completed Nine East 33rd, a mixed-use student housing building in Charles Village.
