Sustainability

We are committed to growing a green community! Harbor Point will be Baltimore’s first true “eco-district;” a concept that expands on the idea of making individual buildings environmentally friendly (based on the U.S. Building Council’s LEED Program) by engineering these qualities into the entire neighborhood.

  • Efficient, dense 27-acre neighborhood with three million square feet of retail, residential, hotel, and office uses, as well as 9.5 acres of park and public spaces.

  • Require all buildings to be designed to at least LEED Silver standards.

  • Encourage environmentally conscious and sensitive design decisions.

  • Minimize resource use per building.

  • Promote the responsible use of water resources, including stormwater management and smart irrigation systems.

  • Coordinate with Waste Neutral to convert food waste generated at Harbor Point into soil that is used by local farms.

  • Provide easy access to a range of alternative transportation options.

  • Maintain a living shoreline along the majority of the water’s edge, providing a natural habitat for local plants and wildlife.

  • Tap into the waterfront promenade to create a more walkable community.
