Resistance Cycle to Open at Harbor Point
A brand-new spin cycle concept is rolling into Harbor Point in 2022! Beatty Development Group announced today that Resistance Cycle, a new spin cycle studio, will be opening its first location at the Exelon Building in Harbor Point.
The new 2,195 square foot studio will be located on Point Street, on the ground floor of the Exelon Building facing Harbor Point’s Central Plaza. For owner Kelly Berger, already a well-known spin instructor in Baltimore, Resistance Cycle is the next step for Resistance Fitness, her growing fitness business that she says took off beyond expectations during the COVID-19 pandemic. “Over the past year, I’ve been able to build an incredible online community, all of us working together and striving towards common fitness goals,” said Berger. “Resistance Cycle feels like a natural fit at Harbor Point, itself a growing neighborhood but already with a strong community vibe. This new studio will really feel like an extension of that and build off that great energy.”
Resistance Cycle will open offering approximately four classes per day on 50 high-end bikes. Classes will be open to all skill levels from beginner to seasoned spinner. For people familiar with Berger’s high-energy fitness classes, she says to expect more of the same at her new studio. “When we’re in the studio, we’re going to put in the work. When it’s time to get after it, we’re going all out.”
The studio will offer highly flexible memberships that allow clients to buy class packages ahead of time, as well as the option to purchase a single ride, either in advance online or as a walk-in. Riders will also have access to full showers and locker room facilities.
“One of our goals for Harbor Point has been to establish the neighborhood as a destination for local entrepreneurs to dream big and make their vision a reality,” said Michael Beatty, President, Beatty Development Group. “Resistance Cycle is a brand-new fitness concept that’s taking that next big step to a physical location. We’re excited to see Kelly’s vision come to life at Harbor Point.”
Opened in 2016 at Harbor Point, the Exelon Building is the Exelon Corporation’s regional office and the headquarters of its Constellation business unit. The mixed-use building also includes 40,000 square feet of retail space on the ground level, the 103 residences of 1305 Dock Street, and a 750-car parking garage. Resistance Cycle will join a diverse tenant mix that includes west elm, Ceremony Coffee Roasters, Plantbar, honeygrow, Breathing Dragon Hot Yoga, and Inspire Nail Bar & Spa.
Located along Baltimore’s scenic waterfront between Harbor East and historic Fell’s Point, Harbor Point is a 27-acre mixed-use project with a planned three million square feet of office, retail, residential, and hotel uses, as well as 9.5 acres of open space.
