Sandlot Now Open at Harbor Point

Sandlot, the highly anticipated “beachside hangout” located at Harbor Point, has officially opened to the public. Operating hours will be 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., seven nights a week. There is no admission to enter Sandlot, and on-site parking is available for $4.

Beatty Development Group and Spike Gjerde and Corey Polyoka’s Foodshed have partnered to create this innovative outdoor restaurant and bar. Foodshed is the team behind local favorite restaurants such as Woodberry Kitchen, Parts & Labor, and Artifact Coffee. The 30,000 square foot Sandlot utilizes refurbished shipping containers from the Port of Baltimore to house their bar, kitchen, cold storage, and restrooms. A 1968 Airstream will serve up frozen mixed drinks as well as ice cream. There are enough picnic tables, couches, and benches to fit approximately 300 people. The brightly colored containers, abundance of sand, and breathtaking view of the harbor gives Sandlot a relaxed beach-like atmosphere perfect for all ages. Children and adults alike can enjoy the climbing zones composed of recycled wooden pallets, bocce courts, hammocks, sand volleyball courts, and open space.

Foodshed’s team has long been committed to using local and sustainable sources for their restaurants. The Sandlot’s menu is relaxed, offering easy-to-eat foods such as sandwiches, skewers, onion rings and nachos. Many dishes and drinks have local inspirations, including options such as campfire oysters, Maryland crab rolls, and various local beers. Sandlot utilizes house-made sodas and juices to mix summer-inspired cocktails and smoothies. Dessert provided by the Charmery in Hampden includes: homemade ice cream, milkshake, and ice cream sandwiches.
